“WHEN WE SHARE OUR STORIES, WHAT IT DOES IS, IT OPENS UP OUR HEARTS FOR OTHER PEOPLE TO SHARE THEIR STORIES. AND IT GIVES US THE SENSE THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE ON THIS JOURNEY.”
ME ME ME
Welcome to Follow The White Fin!!
I’m sat in my room sorting out all of my video/ pictures from all of my travels. All I can think 'it's is a shame after the first post on Facebook no one will see these pictures or hear these stories again’ (unless I’m boring you with stories at the pub).
Here is where Follow The White Fin blog is born!!
Who am I?
My name is Kayleigh Hyslop. I was born and raised in United Kingdom. I love to travel the world, seek new adventures and explore the oceans where ever I am.
Where is all started?
Thanks to my amazing parents, since a young age I have travelled the world from Australia to Iceland to Central America. These amazing opportunities have enabled me to explore new environments and experience unfamiliar cultures and have fuelled my devotion for the ocean and need for adventure even further. As I have got older I continued to travel, and have tried my best, to make a positive difference to the environment and its inhabitants around me.
I have always been a water baby, from my first Scuba diving experience when I was 12, to swimming, surfing (not very well I might add) and freediving, all my friends and family say I spend more time in the water than out.
In 2013 I graduated from Plymouth University with a BSc Hons Degree in Conservation Biology. The degree focused on the challenges facing terrestrial, marine and freshwater environments whilst educating the practices, laws and techniques for protecting and preserving these environments. As soon as I graduated from University I saved up and travelled to Utila, Honduras, where I lived for 6 months training from advanced open water to MSDT. During my time in Utila I lived within the local community, experiencing the way they lived first hand and understanding from their perspective their relationship with the ocean (the good and the bad).
My Amazing Job!!
Two years after Utila I am now a Master Scuba Diver Trainer for PADI, IYT Dive Boat Mate, along with an International Association for Handicapped Divers (IAHD) Instructor at Aquasport International Dive Centre, based in the UK. My specialities include; Sidemount Diver Distinctive Instructor, Enriched Air, Wreck Diver, Emergency Oxygen Provider, Tec Rec Gas Blender, Equipment Specialist, Deep Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Project Aware, Aware Coral Reef Conservation, Care for Children w/AED, Dry Suit, RNLI Diver Sea Survival, Shark awareness and Caribbean lionfish containment Diver (CLCD).
After working in the UK for the last two years, I am now working in the UAE East coast where the diving is amazing. Check out my blogs to follow all of my adventures!!!
